Some people keep asking me why their lips are dry, sore, chaffed and cracked.
Well there are a few reasons for this, but more importantly is what can you do about it, if you suffer constantly from dry, sore, chaffed and cracked lips or would like to prevent it from happening to you.
Well here's what I usually recommend to everyone.
1) Drink at least 2 litres of purified water everyday, as you lose moisture in the sun and also in an air-conditioned environment. To learn more about purified water, you can read more at this blog - http://naturepure.blogspot.com
2) Use a good lip block - not a lip gloss. A lip block protects your lips from being sun burned. Yes you may use a sunblock for your skin, but not on your lips. A lip block with a minimu of SPF20, does 2 things - 1. keeps the lips from losing moisture and 2. keep s the lips from burning. The best lip block that meets all these criteria is the E-International Lip Block which retails in Malaysia for RM 37 (USD12)
3) Enhance the elasticity of your skin by boosting up the collagen. The simplest way is to use a good Vitamin C supplement. But make sure it is time-released, has at least 4 different types of vitamin Cs (not just ascorbic acid) and has bio-flavonoids. The best that I recommend is Bio-C from Unicity, USA. This Bio-C retails in Malaysia RM 77, Singapore S$ 37 & USA $21.
If you can do all these 3 simple things, you can heal and prevent dry, sore, chaffed and cracked lips and enjoy lip smacking again!.
